Sr Manager, Facility Management, Walmart
Mike Walker, Sr. Facilities Manager with Walmart overseeing Plumbing and Fire Suppression repairs for all Walmart Stores and Sam’s Clubs. He has become a voice for the stores as most of his 29 year career was spent in store operations.
Prior to Walmart Facilities, Mike was a store manager at store #359 in Fayetteville, AR. He was the direct supervisor of 13 salaried members of management and responsible for over 550 hourly associates. He strategically planned for all facets of store operations. Mike served on two boards of directors during this time—Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce and Champions for Kids.
Mike has managed several Walmart stores through the US and has always been involved in the community in which he served. In 1994, Mike was selected to run store #1 in Rogers, AR and managed the store for 8 years. During that time he was very active in the community—sitting on several boards of directors including the Rogers/Lowell Chamber of Commerce, Saint Mary’s Hospital Foundations, Big Brothers of Northwest AR, and Optimist Club. Through the Walmart and Walton foundation he was able to fund over $3 million to various projects.
Other positions Mike has held within Walmart include District Manager — Denver, CO, where he led a team of over 2000 associates with accountability for driving $450 million in annual sales. Market Manager — Tulsa OK where he oversaw operations for 11 Walmart stores with over 4,000 associates and drove over $800 Million in annual sales. Regional Personnel Manager — Bentonville AR where he managed all Human Resource requirements for Colorado, Arizona, Nevada and portions of New Mexico and Utah. Mike was responsible for achieving diversity and bench strength goals throughout this role.
Mike is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas with a BBA. He has been married to his wife, Patt, for 28 years.
