Making Good on my Promises: A Healthy Switch

Making Good on my Promises: A Healthy Switch

Chelsea of Someday I’ll Learn, inspired by the Make The Switch Challenge with Jennie-O and Champions For Kids, decided to make a SIMPLE sacrifice to help children in need.  Giving up the Oreos she had been craving during her pregnancy, she saved $20 to turn into an healthy donation for the Promises 2 Kids organization in San Diego.

“$20 can go a long way when you’re focused on spending it on lean meat as the basis for healthy meals. I found a $2 coupon this weekend for Jennie-O frozen burgers on, which makes a 12-pack just $4.98 at Walmart! All things considered, that means my little month of savings could add up to at least 35 or more healthy meals for kids. It felt so good to hand that over to my favorite children’s charity here in San Diego, Promises 2 Kids.   They support abused and neglected children through education, protection and advocacy programs, and are also home to a 6-acre facility (the county’s only emergency shelter) that’s become a national model for the protection and care of abused and neglected children. ”
