Food banks are the cornerstone of hunger-relief efforts in this country. Sometimes, however, food banks must put limits on how many visits a family can make to ensure that they can help as many people as possible. Unfortunately, it also means that some families will struggle to get the food they need. Think beyond the food bank to identify families who can benefit from your food donations through the Post Bowls of Hope project. Talk to a school counselor, a church leader, or social workers at organizations like homeless or transitional housing centers to find families to whom you can directly donate food items.
