- Springdale Superintendent, Jim Rollins, addressed the intrinsic relationship between poverty and children’s educational success. Rollins emphasized the importance of educating the whole child—providing children with the resources and opportunities to help them develop the skills and knowledge to transition successfully to adulthood. Poverty often means that children do not have the resources they need to succeed in the classroom. Eye care, dental care, nutritious food, warm clothes, school supplies, books and other basic needs are critical resources children need to be prepared academically. Champions for Kids SIMPLE Service initiatives provide essential resources to children not only in Arkansas but in all of America and beyond.
