Help kids thrive in your community!
A family-friendly taco party is a great way to get creative, mix up the dinner routine, and satisfy a crowd—even one that includes picky eaters! Why not also use this fun summer gathering as a way to help kids thrive? When school lets out for the summer, millions of children lose access to the school breakfasts, lunches and after-school snacks they receive during the regular school year.
You can help by hosting a Fiesta to Feed Families!
It’s this SIMPLE!
1. GATHER your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers for a Fiesta to Feed Families. You could have guests build their own tacos, nachos, or salads. Ask each person to bring at least three non-perishable food items to donate to children in need.
2. LEARN about organizations in your community. What items do they need most? How can you share your time and resources?
3. GIVE the items that you collect to a food pantry or other organization in your community. You can find a food pantry in your area by visiting www.foodpantries.org.
4. SHARE your story with us at www.championsforkids.org/share so that we can celebrate your participation! How many people were involved, and how many items did you collect? Please let us know that you are one of millions who helped reach our goal to mobilize 20 million people by 2020 to become Champions for Kids!
