Make the holidays brighter for kids in your community!
The winter holidays should be a time of family togetherness and sharing of gifts, but they can be especially challenging for families in poverty, who have difficulty meeting basic needs. They can also be emotionally difficult for over 400,000 children who live without permanent families in foster care in the United States.
Will you help make the holidays brighter for these kids?
It’s this SIMPLE!
1. GATHER your friends, family, coworkers—even your church or neighborhood!—for a Season of Giving Project. Ask guests to bring appropriate items to place in stockings for children in need.
2. LEARN about the organizations that help kids in need in your community. How can you support their work now and throughout the year?
3. GIVE the stockings to a community advocate or local charity for children.
4. SHARE your story at championsforkids.org/share. Let us know how many people were involved and how many items you collected. Thank you for being a Champion for Kids!
Stories from across America
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be posting photos and stories of people across America who are donating stockings for children in need and being Champions for Kids in their community! Be sure to check back throughout the month to see the inspiring stories.
