SIMPLE Giving Frequently Asked Questions

What is SIMPLE Giving?

SIMPLE Giving is a Champions for Kids program that makes it simple for you to donate items to help kids in your community. You can purchase items at your local Walmart and drop them in the donation bins after checkout. All of the donations go to children in the community where the Walmart store is located.

What results has SIMPLE Giving had so far?

Donations from our first SIMPLE Giving program, launched in 24 Walmart stores last spring, provided over 20,000 children with new toothbrushes and toothpaste. Since then, SIMPLE Giving has generated over 500,000 more donations--and counting--to help kids in local schools!

How can I help?

Our current SIMPLE Giving program is taking place in over 3,000 Walmart stores across the United States, collecting school supplies for children in need. If your Walmart store is participating, simply purchase school and classroom supplies (such as backpacks, pencils, crayons, hand sanitizer, and soap) and place them in the donation bins at the front of the store.

You can also spread the word by sharing the SIMPLE Giving Social Media Graphic and Flyer

Which schools benefit from the program? Which Walmart stores are participating?

School nurses, social workers, and student services coordinators distribute the donated items to children in the school district where each Walmart store is located. To see a list of participating stores, click here

How will I find SIMPLE Giving products and donation bins in my Walmart store?

Just look for the purple product display near the register. This display has suggested items to donate, but you're welcome to choose any kid-friendly school supplies that you'd like to give. Once you've purchased your items, drop them into the donation bins after checkout.

What if I don't live in an area that is involved in a SIMPLE Giving program?

We’ll be rolling out SIMPLE Giving in more Walmart stores throughout the year, so be on the lookout—and sign up for our e-newsletter—for opportunities to participate in a SIMPLE Giving campaign near you. Until then, you can always get inspired and involved with our SIMPLE Service projects to make a difference right now, right where you are.
